Born in St. Croix, and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Chef Keisha was raised in a family that loved cooking traditional Caribbean meals. She realized her love for cooking at an early age, and after a longtime career in interactive marketing/PR, she chose to pursue her passion and earned her culinary degree from the Houston Institute of Art in 2010. During school she joined the opening team at Philippe Restaurant and Lounge where her passion for the food and beverage industry was cemented. Throughout her career she has had the honor of working alongside some of the most prestigious kitchens in the city, where Chef Keisha honed her skills in a variety of cuisines.
In 2012, she launched Bocage Catering a full service turn key catering company, and in 2017 opened her first restaurant as Executive Chef and Owner of Ate Kitchen in Montrose where she sourced and highlighted seasonal and local ingredients, a move that allowed her the freedom to change the menu weekly.
Now, with her second location inside Politan Row Food Hall, Chef Keisha continues to introduce Houston to her interpretation of classic Caribbean cuisine while still sourcing and highlighting local and seasonal ingredients. By fusing her Trinidadian heritage of French, African, Indian, Asian and Latin influences, Chef Keisha is continuously striving to build upon her vision of showcasing refined Caribbean inspired food to the masses.
